What does Wispim do?

Wispim is a teleprompter for iPhone whose script follows your voice. It scrolls itself as you speak, so you can look at the lens instead of down at your notes, and it can sit in a floating window on top of the app you are filming with.

Does it work with the Camera app, Instagram and TikTok?

Yes. Put the script in the floating window, then open the app you film with: the window stays on top while you record and voice following keeps going. Tested with Camera, Instagram and TikTok. If another app does take the microphone, Wispim switches to Constant on its own, tells you, and switches back when the microphone returns.

Does my speech stay on my phone?

Usually, and the app tells you when it does not. Recognition runs on your iPhone wherever your language supports it. Where your language has no on-device model, iOS sends the audio to Apple to convert it to text — the language picker marks those languages before you start, and the app says so again during the take. Your scripts, your audio and the transcripts are never sent to us. The privacy policy has the detail.

What does Wispim cost?

Free gives you 6 prompter takes, and every feature is in it — floating window, voice following and voice commands. A take is any start of the prompter, full screen or in the floating window, in any mode; the number of scripts you keep is not limited on either tier. Pro removes the take limit and adds import from PDF, Word and RTF: $9.99 a month, $49.99 a year, or $199.99 once. Prices in USD; your App Store shows local pricing.

Can I move the floating window with my finger?

No. iOS does not let a window like this accept touch, and that is exactly why the voice commands and the volume buttons exist — the buttons are marked Experimental, and they do not work inside camera apps, which take them for the shutter. It snaps to a corner the way Picture in Picture does. You pick Wide or Tall, rotate it 90° either way so it sits the right way up under the lens on a rig, and set its text size and side margins separately from the full-screen prompter.

Do I need an account?

No. There is nothing to sign up for and no sign-in anywhere in the app. Purchases go through the App Store.
