Windows

A teleprompter for Windows that follows your voice.

Your script scrolls as you speak, in a floating panel that stays above your slides, a meeting or a call. Put it right under the camera and your eyes stay near the lens.

Download from the Microsoft Store Download from the Microsoft Store 6 free takes. 64-bit PC, Windows 10 version 2004 or later.

A panel above your other windows

Start a take in the floating panel and it stays on top of your other windows, so you can read over your slides, a meeting or a call. Move it right under the camera, and your eyes stay close to the lens while you read.

You can make the panel more or less see-through. Turn on click-through and your clicks go through the panel to the window behind it.

Shortcuts that work in any app

Ctrl+Alt+P pauses and resumes the take, Ctrl+Alt+F shows and hides the panel, and Ctrl+Alt+T turns click-through on and off. They work whichever app is in front.

You can also speak to it. Pause, continue, go back, restart and go to the end work as spoken commands in English, Russian, German and Polish.

Three ways to scroll

Voice follows the words you say, in 31 languages. Sound moves while it hears you talk, and Constant scrolls at a speed you set. Both of those work in any language.

Click a word and reading carries on from there. The prompter also runs full screen, mirrors the text for a rig, and has a start delay before the take begins. The app is in 16 languages, with a light and a dark theme.

Speech recognition on your PC

Voice following runs on your PC. Wispim downloads the speech model for a language once, and after that recognition works offline.

Microsoft online speech is optional and starts switched off. If you turn it on, Microsoft recognises a language that has no model on your PC, over the internet.

Your scripts and your voice are never sent to us. The privacy policy has the detail.

What is free, and what Pro adds

The free app gives you 6 prompter takes, with voice following, voice commands and the floating panel, and unlimited scripts. On a PC, the takes are counted for each Windows user account. Pro removes the take limit and adds import from TXT, Markdown, PDF, DOCX and RTF.

Pro costs $9.99 a month, $69.99 a year or $199.99 once. Those are USD prices, and the Microsoft Store shows yours. You buy Pro, restore it and ask for a refund through the Microsoft Store and your Microsoft account. Pro bought in one store works only in the apps from that store. On iPhone and Mac, Pro also keeps your script library on both through your own iCloud. On a PC, your scripts stay in the app’s own folder.

Wispim for Windows needs a 64-bit PC with Windows 10 version 2004 or later, Windows 11 included. On a Mac, Wispim for Mac keeps the script above your call the same way, and on an iPhone the floating window stays on top of the camera app while you record.

Will the script follow my voice during a call?

We have not measured that yet, so we can’t promise it. The panel stays above your call either way. For a call, choose Constant: it scrolls at the speed you set and needs no microphone.

How do refunds work on Windows?

Pro on Windows is bought through the Microsoft Store, so Microsoft handles a refund under its own refund policy. You ask for one through your Microsoft account.
